In this exercise the students will check several social situations and decide if they find them disturbing or not. Following the links above (Sheet 1, Sheet 2) you will find two worksheets. On sheet 1 some situations are described. Usually the students will find some of them disturbing and some not. On sheet 2 are three boxes with the inscriptions: "o.k. - That´s not ok. - Depends on...".

Every student gets both papers and the task to decide which situation is o.k. for herself and which not. The students write the numbers of the situations next to the matching box on Sheet 2. If necessary, they may add a comment. When they have finished, the results are discussed by the group.

I have found that some of the described situations evoke very different opinions - a good basis for a lively discussion!
