A Self Defense Course:
Walk in the Park

A course is a good opportunity to train different techniques under stress conditions. This course is called "Walk in the Park". The class is divided into two groups. One group is positioned at the stations of the course. The others walk along these stations and are attacked or harassed by the members of the other group. So they have to defend themselves.  

Following the links "The Stations" and "Course Plan" you will find a description of the stations and a plan of the course. As in the other exercises, the defender is called "A", the name of the attackers at the stations is "B".

  Time needed : about 40 min

It is useful to repeat this exercise three times:

  Stage One The techniques are done slowly.
  Stage Two The students work faster without applying
much force.
  Stage Three They work fast and forcefully.

Before the exercise is started, I explain to the students that
the attacks at the different stations are meant to be attacks of one person that are splitted up, so that we can easier work on the defences.
